Someone once said about Christ Kitchen that Jesus is the paint on the wall. That might seem a little “over the top” at first, but I have found it to be absolutely true. I am always humbled and amazed at how this place is a safe haven and foundation for the women in our community. We often see our women return after being away for years just to see their “Christ family.” We are overwhelmed by the stories of personal victories which are all made possible by the transformational power of Jesus in each woman’s life.
The stories our women share about where they have come from and where they are now always leave me a awestruck. To watch them learn and grow in the Bible study each Thursday is so rewarding. I always seem to gain a new perspective on something from listening to them and their insight. It’s easy to see why God loves diversity: in Scripture, he frequently uses people from all walks of life to teach and help others grow. This happens everyday at Christ Kitchen as we are all teachers and students, as God uses each individual at the right time to lift each other up.
Each week, I walk out of Christ Kitchen filled up: filled with the love of the Lord and a sisterhood that you just can’t find anywhere else. Yes, Jesus truly is in every corner of this building. Even in the paint on the walls!
